How do I add maps to the 'More Maps' list?

The 'More Maps' option in Trail Boss's settings page is a place where you can add links to any internet map server. We have pre-loaded the list with many maps that we have used. You can add your own maps to the list.

How do I add maps to the 'More Maps' list?

On Trail Boss's settings page there is a button 'More Maps' that lets you use maps from any internet map server. We have pre-loaded Trail Boss with many specialty maps and you can add to this list.

You can find map servers all across the internet. Many are run by government agencies and serve up specialty maps depicting all sorts of country specific geospatial data. If you find a map server that you would like to add to Trail Boss you must first determine its server URL. The server URL is a string that contains the Internet address of the server and the map request parameters. Contact the map provider to obtain this info (or post a request to the 'Make a Suggestion' section and we will try to help).

To add a map to Trail Boss:
  1. Select 'More Maps' on the settings page.
  2. Tap the + button to add the map. A blank entry is created at the bottom of the list.
  3. Type the URL string into the URL box and give the map a name.
  4. Click the switch beside the map name to select the map for use on Trail Boss's map page.
The posts in this forum contain links to map servers provided by other Trail Boss users. If you find a nice map please consider adding it to this forum.
