Thunderforest maps

The 'More Maps' option in Trail Boss's settings page is a place where you can add links to any internet map server. We have pre-loaded the list with many maps that we have used. You can add your own maps to the list.

Thunderforest maps

Thunderforest provides several interesting map styles. Go to https://www.thunderforest.com and sign up to get an access key. Then add an entry in Trail Boss's "Other Online Maps" for each of the Thunderforest styles you want to use. The Thunderforest map style pages show the URL that you must enter into Trail Boss's 'Server URL' entry.

For example, to add the Thunderforest openCycleMap map:
  1. Sign up with Thunderforest to get an API key.
  2. Goto the Thunderforest openCycleMap map page at: https://www.thunderforest.com/maps/opencyclemap.
  3. Copy the opencyclemap server URL that is shown on that page: https://tile.thunderforest.com/cycle/{z}/{x}/{y}.png?apikey=<apikey>. Replace <apikey> with the key you obtained when you signed up on Thunderforest.
  4. Go back to Trail Boss and select the + button in Trail Boss's More Maps page to add a new map. Name it 'Thunderforest Cycle'
  5. Paste the url that you copied from Thunderforest into the Server URL box.
  6. Tap the green switch beside the map name to select the map for use on Trail Boss's map page.
