How can I select between Metric or Imperial units?

Trail Boss uses the region that you selected in your phone's Settings to determine what units to display. For example, if you have set up your region to be the USA you will see distances as ft/miles. If you have selected Canada then distances will be meters/kilometers.

You can override the automatic setting: Select the 'Distance, Speed, Altitude' option on Trail Boss's Settings page and change the 'Metric Units' selector as desired.
