Can I see the trips in the Trip Log that are near to a specific location?

Yes.
Position the map so that it shows the area of interest.
Go to the Trip Log page and tap the advanced filter button at the top left.
Select the option Within Visible Map. Tap OK to go back to the Trip Log. It now shows the trips that are within the visible bounds of the map page.
